Kopron recessed loading bays to facilitate fresh and frozen food distribution

For Brivio & Viganò's, new logistics pole handled by Engineering Techbau located at Pozzuolo Martesana, not far from Milan, Kopron installed n. 50 recessed loading bays to facilitate daily loading and unloading operations of cold and fresh food. These Kopron loading bays were chosen for their insulating and energy saving characteristics.

In details, Kopron supplied:

  • 50 Electro hydraulic dock levellers with telescopic lip with box model frame;
  • 50 Sectional doors closing the dock levelers with panels 80mm thick;
  • 2 Portoni sezionali size 7 meters sliding at 90°;
  • 50 Standard raised dock shelters with safety traffic lights with numeric backlights;
  • Maxi bumpers with sliding supports.

This logistics pole will be the base for food distribution on both national and International markets, and offer storage services for Brivio & Viganò’s customers.

Such a solution optimizes handling operations of fresh and frozen food, keeping temperatures steady with low economic impact.

Mr Antonio Siviero, Kopron's Technician Specializing in loading bays, said:

"The recessed loading bay is placed in a logistics context where all parts composing it are designed to minimize heat transfer between the inside and outside of the warehouse."

Recessed loading bays: a Kopron solution for handling fresh and frozen food

This solution guarantees better energy efficiency, keeping usual Kopron quality and safety standards.

Kopron,for the past 35 years, have been well-known for the quality of the products they propose as well as for the continuous investment in research and development. Product performance and reliability perfectly comply with innovation and with requests of all sectors.

In this specific case, Kopron met the requirements of the cold sector proposing a solution which would guarantee a perfect balance between inside and outside temperatures.

Kopron Recessed loading bays are a cost-effective solution for the logistics flow of fresh and frozen. Discover why:

check-button.svg FOR FRESH FOOD: these loading bays operate from 0°C to +5°C;
check-button.svg FOR FROZEN FOOD: these loading bays operate up to -45°C.

Cost saving is due to low power consumption of these loading bays.

Which is the difference compared to Kopron traditional loading bays?

Dock levellers with telescopic lip. Dock levellers when in idle/withdrawn position remain at 500mm from the edge of the bay.

Sectional doors with insulating panels. The door shutting the loading bay, cover the dock leveller from the inside. The insulating panel is inserted between the dock leveller pit and the lower part where the vehicle hydraulic ramp is positioned.

The particularity lays in the door thickness:

  • For fresh food, door is 40mm thick;
  • For frozen food, door is 80mm thick.

To reduce heat transfer, doors are produced in white colour.

Dock Shelters. For fresh and frozen food, Kopron dock shelters guarantee insulation in the spaces between the two rear doors when they are open and along the sides of the vehicle.
